Our caseload encompasses a wide variety of English sport and Western disciplines as well as pleasure horses. We see approximately 30% sports medicine, 20% reproductive, 30% preventative medicine and dentistry and 20 % internal medicine/ophtho/neonatal.
The practice sees routine appointments during the week and only emergencies during the weekend. A significant lameness caseload is seen throughout the year. Spring is the busiest season with new foals and reproductive work (AI, shipped semen, ET).
Individuals enrolled in a current veterinary degree program are eligible for externships and are encouraged to apply through the online interest form. Studentships (shadowing opportunities) are occasionally available for undergraduates with a strong interest in equine medicine. We do not have openings for high school students at this time. All applicants are required to have experience working around horses and will be asked to submit a letter of intent and current resume.
