Dr. Mark A. Wallace - MS, Diplomate ACVIM
Dr. Wallace was born in Nova Scotia, Canada and completed his veterinary degree at the University of Prince Edward Island in 1993. After graduation, he pursued a large animal internship in medicine, surgery and reproduction at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. He remained at VA Tech from 1994-1997 to pursue an internal medicine residency and a Masters degree in research related to colic in horses. In 1997 he became board certified in large animal internal medicine by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Dr. Wallace has published a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals relating to various aspects of large animal medicine.
Dr. Wallace began working in Reidsville in 1997. His special veterinary interests include equine lameness, colic and neurologic conditions but he practices and enjoys all areas of equine medicine. He is also an adjunct professor in the Equestrian Studies Department at Averett University in Danville, VA where he teaches courses in Lameness and Equine Nutrition. Dr. Wallace performs consultation work for a number of pharmaceutical companies and has participated in clinical trials for a variety of new equine drugs that are currently on the market. He also finds the time to speak at a number of meetings including the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association annual convention.
Dr. Talbot was born and raised in southeastern Louisiana just outside of New Orleans. He spent his early years growing up on a small, family operated boarding stable in Algiers, LA. Dr. Talbot and his family both raised and competed American Quarter Horses and were heavily involved in the Palomino Horse Breeder's Association. During high school he traveled to Tulsa, OK to compete in the PHBA world show with 2 of the family's horses. He attended Louisiana State University and achieved a B.S. in Animal, Dairy and Poultry Sciences. He enrolled in LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in May, 2003 with a focus on Equine Medicine.
Dr. Talbot joined Reidsville Veterinary Hospital in June of 2003 as one of 3 full time Large Animal Veterinarians. His primary areas of interest include internal medicine, dentistry, reproduction and neonatology. He also enjoys working on various types of livestock including cattle and goats. His interest in reproduction and neonatology stem from his experiences working at A&I Stallion Station in Covington, LA and through his senior veterinary externship at Haygard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, Ky. His professional memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association, North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners and the Society for Theriogenology.
While not practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Talbot enjoys most outdoor activities. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, canoeing and the occasional trail ride. Dr. Talbot also enjoys spending time in outdoor pursuits with his wife Sara and their 2 dogs.
Dr. Rebecca Stinson began riding horses at the age of 8 while living in Phoenix, Arizona. Her family then relocated to the east coast and her passion for horses took off. Dr. Stinson competed in 4-H and Virginia Arabian Horse Association shows. During her undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech, Dr. Stinson discovered dressage and began working with a trainer in Blacksburg. After moving to Georgia, she attended veterinary school at the University of Georgia. Dr. Stinson graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Dr. Stinson then joined Genessee Valley Equine Clinic in Rochester, New York. While at GVEC, Dr. Stinson honed her skills as an equine veterinarian.
Dr. Stinson's veterinary interests include equine lameness and performance medicine, ophthalmology, and complimentary medicine including acupuncture. Dr. Stinson completed the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society certification class in 2006 and enjoys using acupuncture and herbal therapy to enhance the response to traditional western medicine. Dr. Stinson is also very active in the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association where she is the chair of the Large Animal Medicine Committee, and has served on many committees and councils of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Stinson moved to Reidsville in 2003 and has a small farm which she shares with her husband, son, two dogs, two cats and her Oldenburg cross, Reno. Dr. Stinson and Reno look forward to the day when they can spend more time together.
Dr. Boyer is a native of Pennsylvania but has lived in Illinois and Ohio as well. She graduated from the Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992 and joined a mixed animal practice in Randolph County North Carolina. Although Dr. Boyer enjoyed the variety of a mixed animal practice her true passion is for horses.
In 1998 she joined an equine veterinary practice where she was able to concentrate on equine medicine and reproduction. In 2002 she ventured out on her own and began Cedar Hill Mobile Equine Service where she could ensure a high quality of customer service and patient care. Dr. Boyer joined Carolina Equine Hospital at its inception in 2009.
Dr. Boyer's interests include equine reproduction, internal medicine, and general practice. In her spare time Anne enjoys trail riding and spending time with her daughter.

Dr. Leighanne Erickson was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She studied Spanish Language and Literature at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA and taught middle school and high school Spanish for several years before deciding to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. In 2007, she began her course of study at Purdue University's School of Veterinary Medicine and received her DVM in May of 2011.
A lifelong horse lover, Dr. Erickson began riding at the age of 8 and competed on the IHSA team at William and Mary. She spent 4.5 years in Washington State with her husband where they maintained a small farm for their quarter horses. During her four years at veterinary school, she owned and operated a boarding stable in West Lafayette, Indiana. She very much enjoyed managing the health and safety of her equine wards and incorporates those practical experiences into her veterinary practice. In addition to preventative health care, her veterinary interests include equine dentistry, reproduction and lameness.
In her spare time, Dr. Erickson enjoys boating and flying with her husband, Brian. She also enjoys spending time with her three dogs and riding her quarter horse gelding, Robo.

Dr. Annie King was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina where she started riding horses at the age of six. She was a member of the local 4-H and Pony Clubs and competed in both Dressage and Eventing as a teenager.
Dr. King attended college at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee where she played Varsity Soccer and studied Wildlife Conservation. During her summers off, she worked as a whitewater raft guide on the French Broad River. Following graduation, she worked at the Western North Carolina Nature Center, a local Zoo and Wildlife Center. Deciding to follower her life-long dream, she returned to school in 2007 to study Veterinary Medicine at NC State University, where she focused in Equine Practice and was the President of the NCSU Chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners.
Dr. King graduated in May 2011 and moved to Gibsonville. In her spare time, she enjoys all outdoor activities, but particularly whitewater rafting with her husband Will, and their two dogs.
