Shockwave Therapy

 

Shockwave therapy is one of the many therapies that we offer injured equine athletes. Carolina Equine Hospital uses the VersaTron® high frequency shock wave unit as a non-invasive therapy for chronic pain and lameness. Extra-corporeal shock wave therapy is used to treat a number of musculoskeletal disorders in horses including:

  • Suspensory Ligament Injuries
  • Stress Fractures
  • Bowed Tendons
  • Splints
  • Splint Fractures
  • Hock and other types of arthritis
  • Navicular syndrome
  • Sacroiliac conditions (such as Hunters bumps)
  • Back pain
