Embryo transfer (ET) has become a very popular and profitable way to enable a young mare in training to produce offspring without having to stop work.  ET also allows a mare owner the ability  to get more than one foal in a season from the same sire and dam as well assisting the older mare that cannot carry a foal to term.

We offer several options for embryo transfer. We can transfer an embryo from the donor mare to one of our recipient mares, ship it to any facility in the United States of your choosing, or transfer it to one of your mares.

The embryo transfer program at Carolina Equine Hospital continues to grow with the latest in equipment and techniques.  In 2009, our doctors performed 14 embryo flushes with a 78% embryo recovery rate.  Of the embryos transferred into recipients, 55% have resulted in viable pregnancies.  Three embryos were flown same day delivery to Texas and Florida.
